Each episode involves amazing reveals of the competitor’s finished work, and the drama of one contestant being sent home by the panel of expert and celebrity judges. It all culminates in one winner and one grand prize that will launch a career.

As a member of the multi-generational family dynasty whose name is synonymous with the make-up effects field, actress McKenzie Westmore brings poise and expertise to her role as host of the series. Judging the competition are some of the most renowned names in the SFX world. Three-time Academy Award winner Ve Neill, famed special make-up effects artist Glenn Hetrick, and creature designer and film director Patrick Tatopoulos.

Note: In early October, 2011 the crew of “Face Off” walked off the job in an effort to obtain a contract with IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees), the union that represents film and TV crew members.
