3 Arts Entertainment and Scott Rudin Productions are set to begin production on the new HBO single-camera comedy series “Silicon Valley”. Casting directors are auditioning talent for recurring, guest starring, and day player roles. Extras will be cast throughout season one. Shooting will take place in Los Angles and Northern California in the city of Palo Alto. The pilot episode was filmed in March, 2013 and HBO announced that the series was picked up for a full season shortly after executives viewed the pilot.

Silicon Valley is set in the high tech gold rush of modern Silicon Valley, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success. Josh Brener will play Big Head, Thomas’ (Thomas Middleditch) friend and confidant. He doesn’t really have that big of a head but the grade school nickname stuck. His claim to fame is getting himself into the Hacker Hostel incubator with his App idea “Nip Alert”. Erlich (T.J. Miller), the owner of the Hacker House, loves him. Lindsey Broad will play Tandy. Attractive in a friendly, slightly sloppy way, she is a loyal friend who would never have sex with her girlfriend’s boyfriends. Although a realist about wanting to marry into a comfortable life she has a bit of the romantic in her.

Primetime Emmy Award winner Mike Judge directed the pilot and is executive producing the series along with Primetime Emmy Award winners John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky. The three are also head writers for the show. Judge is best known for his animated television series “Beavis and Butt-head” and “King of the Hill”. He also wrote, produced and directed the hugely popular feature film “Office Space”. Also executive producing “Silicon Valley” is Academy Award winner Scott Rudin, and 3 Arts Entertainment’s two-time Primetime Emmy Award winner Michael Rotenberg. Rounding out the executive producing team is Tom Lassally. Primetime Emmy Award winner Chrisann Verges produced the pilot episode.
