Actor and Extras Casting Calls for Fox Series Enlisted

“Enlisted” is expected to air on Fox in late Fall 2013.

20th Century Fox has given a 13-episode season one order for the new single-camera comedy series “Enlisted”, and the show’s Primetime Emmy Award nominated casting director is auditioning actors for guest starring, recurring, and day-player roles. In addition to the ongoing principal actor casting, Central Casting is hiring extras throughout the season in Los Angeles, where shooting will take place from August 15, 2013 through December 1, 2013. All types are being cast, with an emphasis on military types, both male and female.

“Enlisted” centers on three brothers, one Army, but absolutely no fighting! An irreverent but heartfelt single-camera comedy about three brothers on a small Florida Army base and the group of misfits who surround them. Charming, funny and a natural-born leader, Sergeant Pete Hill was on a path for a huge military career until one mistake overseas got him booted stateside to Fort McGee, the base in Florida where his two younger brothers are stationed. Now, as head of their platoon, Pete must serve both as big brother and military boss.

Starring in “Enlisted” is actor Geoff Stults playing the role of Sergeant Pete Hill. Stults is a former pro-football player who played for the Danube Dragons in the European Football League. His television acting credits include “7th Heaven,” “Bones,” “How I Met Your Mother,” and “The Finder”. Also starring in “Enlisted” is Screen Actors Guild Awards winner Chris Lowell as Corporal Derrick Hill; Parker Young as Private Randy Hill; two-time Primetime Emmy Award winner Keith David as Command Sergeant Major Donald Cody; and Angelique Cabral playing the role of Sergeant Jill Perez.

Kevin Biegel is creator and executive producer of “Enlisted” and will also serve as showrunner. Biegel started out as writers assistant on “The Tracy Morgan Show” and “Grounded for Life”, eventually becoming story editor and then co-producer on “Scrubs”. Biegel is co-executive producer and co-head writer on the ABC series “Cougar Town”. Two-time Primetime Emmy Award winner Mike Royce is also executive producer on “Enlisted”. Royce, also a successful standup comedian, has served as writer/executive producer on such hit television shows as “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “Men of a Certain Age,” and “1600 Penn.”

Directors:

Note: Various directors work different episodes during the season. In television shows composed of individual episodes, the television director’s role differs from that of a film director in that he or she may work only on some television episodes as opposed to the director of an entire film production. In episodic television productions, the major creative control resides with a producer of the show. The television producer with creative control is called the showrunner (in this case Kevin Biegel).

Story:

Three brothers, one Army, but absolutely no fighting! An irreverent but heartfelt single-camera comedy about three brothers on a small Florida Army base and the group of misfits who surround them. Charming, funny and a natural-born leader, Sergeant Pete Hill (Geoff Stults) was on a path for a huge military career until one mistake overseas got him booted stateside to Fort McGee, the base in Florida where his two younger brothers are stationed. Now, as head of their platoon, Pete must serve both as big brother and military boss. Corporal Derrick Hill (Chris Lowell) is the middle brother – smart and sarcastic, he likes to stir up trouble and doesn’t really care about being a soldier. Private Randy Hill (Parker Young), on the other hand, loves it. He’s the hyper-enthusiastic, hyper-goofy – just hyper – youngest brother who wants to be the gung-ho “GI Joe” military ideal. The Hill brothers serve on the Rear Detachment unit, comprised of the soldiers left behind when everyone else is deployed, because they’re not quite good enough to be sent overseas, yet not bad enough to be kicked out of the Army. These are the men and women who mow lawns at the base, sort mail, wash tanks, find lost dogs and maybe engage in a war game or two. But the Rear D’s main job is taking care of deployed soldiers’ families. Whatever they need, the Rear D soldiers do. And, in the event that something happens to a soldier overseas, the Rear D troops break the news to the family and become a supportive shoulder to cry on. It’s a job that shifts each moment from the thrilling to the mundane to the emotional and back again. Fort McGee is run by Command Sergeant Major Donald Cody (Keith David), a firm but fair man who served with the brothers’ late father. Major Cody promised to look out for them, so he brought all the brothers to the base to fulfill that promise. Cody has seen it all and lost a foot to prove it – which no one can forget, probably since he never misses an opportunity to bring it up. Confident, funny, tough and beautiful, Sergeant Jill Perez (Angelique Cabral) is the same rank as Pete and leads the other Rear D platoon on base.
