The new 2011 HBO medieval fantasy television series “Game of Thrones” has become an instant mega hit show. The series debuted in the Unites States on Sunday evening, April 17, 2011 and was picked up for a second season on April 19, 2011. Auditions information for actors is now available. In addition, many extras, stand-ins and photo doubles for the series stars are being hired throughout production.

The series is based on the epic fantasy novels by American novelist and screenwriter George R. R. Martin titled “A Song of Ice and Fire”. The show follows three principal storylines, divided by fictional geography and participants. The first storyline is set in the Seven Kingdoms, the second storyline is set on the extreme northern border of Westeros, The third storyline is set on the huge eastern continent of Essos, across the narrow sea, and follows the adventures of Daenerys Targaryen – played by the beautiful and talented Emilia Clarke.

BAFTA Film Award nominated David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are creators “Game of Thrones”. They are also co-writers along with Bryan Cogman, Jane Espenson, and George R. R. Martin. Generator Entertainment’s Mark Huffman, who won a Directors Guild of America Award for “Saving Private Ryan,” will produce along with Frank Doelger, who will oversee production for HBO.

The main starring and co-starring roles for “Game of Thrones” are cast in London, and additional casting for supporting roles, extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins are cast near the various filming locations of Belfast, Ireland and in Malta.

“Game of Thrones” season 1 has a 10 episode order and will continue airing through 26 June 2011. Auditions and casting calls for season 2 has begun , as shooting on all 10 episodes of season 1 has already been completed. Season 2 filming will begin on July 25, 2011 and continue through the end of December, 2011.

Here are some specific ongoing casting needs:

• Males and Females, any age. Must have long to medium natural blonde hair.

• Males and Females, any age. Must have fair skin.

• Males and Females, any age. Mediterranean look with long hair.

• Men MUST be willing to grow a beard or stubble.

• Experienced Equestrians with any of the above appearances is a plus.

• People with good drumming skills.

Actors submit a current headshot and resume, extras send in a recent color snapshot along with all of your physical stats, clothing sizes, and contact information. Actors should be legal to work in the United Kingdom, extras should be local to either Ireland or Malta, and submit to the appropriate casting director only.
