Uptown Productions is getting ready to begin production on a brand new series “The Thundermans” for Nickelodeon Netwok. The show’s casting directors are auditioning actors for the series regulars, guest stars, possible recurring, and under-5 roles. Shooting will begin in mid-February, and the extras will be cast at that time and throughout production in Los Angeles. The pilot for this live-action show was shot back in October, 2012.

Thunderman and Whipra are two ex-superheros who’s children also have superpowers. The family moves from Metroburg to a new town because the Hero League makes superheroes retire at 40 years old. They try to be a normal, average family “The Thundermans”. Not an easy task with thirteen year old Phoebe Thunderman, who has twelve powers; Her mischievous twin brother Jack, who who wants to be a supervillain; Oliver is a boy with an IQ of 212; Billy and Nora are two siblings who are always getting into trouble using their powers in the house, and end up exposing Phoebe’s superpowers to her friend Cherry.

Bob Koherr will direct “The Thundermans” from teleplays written by three-time Daytime Emmy Award winner Jed Spingarn. Although Koherr has directed for the Nickelodeon show “True Jackson VP,” he is a long time director of Disney Channel series including, “Zeke and Luther,” “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “The Suite Life on Deck,” “Hannah Montana,” “A.N.T. Farm,” “Jessie,” and “Good Luch Charlie”. He is also a skilled improv comedy performer and was a series regular on the Comedy Central show Strip Mall, where he worked with actor Alan Baltes. Koherr most recently played the role of Marty on Walt Disney Pictures “Race to Witch Mountain”.

In addition to writing the teleplay, Jed Spingarn is also serving as the show’s executive producer. He is a long time Nickelodeon writer and producer on such shows as “Big Time Rush,” “Back at the Barnyard,” “The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius,” and “Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards”. He also was writer and producer on the Cartoon Network series Johnny Bravo. Spingarn’s Daytime Emmy Award wins came from writing on the Steven Spielberg produced series “Pinky and the Brain,” and for Nickelodeons “Back at the Barnyard”.

Uptown Productions is the production company behind “The Haunted Hathaways”. Uptown is a subsidiary of Nickelodeon and produces television shows for the network. Lee Ann Larsen is the CEO and President of Uptown, which is headquartered in New York.
